📅 Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha City

Upon landing at the airport, a friendly representative from GreyJoy Safari Adventures will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. This first day is designed for you to relax, settle in, and prepare for the adventures ahead. If you arrive early, you’ll also have the chance to explore Arusha City and nearby attractions.

  • Main Destination: Arusha (City)

  • Accommodation: The Charity Hotel

  • Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Drinks not included)

After breakfast, your personal safari guide will pick you up for your first wildlife adventure. As you travel across the Maasai plains, you’ll pass Maasai herders, donkey carts, and vibrant villages before reaching Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.

From the open roof of your 4×4 safari jeep, take in the breathtaking scenery of seasonal swamps, rolling savannahs, and the Tarangire River. Keep your eyes peeled for zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, lions, and perhaps even a leopard lounging in a tree.

After a full day of game drives, you’ll check into a comfortable lodge where dinner and relaxation await.

  • Main Destination: Tarangire National Park

  • Accommodation: Africa Safari Karatu (Safari Comfort Bungalow)

  • Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Drinks not included)

An early breakfast sets you on your way to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Though the drive is long, it is filled with beautiful landscapes and cultural encounters along the way.

As you enter the Serengeti, the “endless plains” stretch before you—nearly 18,000 square kilometers of pristine wilderness. This is the stage for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras move in search of greener pastures.

Big cats thrive here too—lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas are often spotted. This is the Serengeti you’ve seen in countless documentaries, now unfolding right before your eyes.

  • Main Destination: Central Serengeti

  • Accommodation: Intimate Camp Seronera

  • Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Drinks not included)

Wake up early to witness a magical African sunrise on a morning game drive. As the sun lights up the plains, watch the wilderness come alive with elephants, antelopes, and predators beginning their day.

You’ll enjoy breakfast in the park and lunch amidst the sweeping landscapes. In the afternoon, continue your game drive before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where your camp awaits near the crater rim.

  • Main Destination: From Serengeti to Ngorongoro

  • Accommodation: Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp

  • Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Drinks not included)

Today’s highlight is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. Descend 600 meters into the caldera, often called the “Garden of Eden,” where over 25,000 animals live year-round.

You’ll spot rhinos, elephants, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, and perhaps even the elusive leopard. Bird lovers will be delighted too, as the area hosts more than 500 species. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll head to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu for dinner and a restful evening.

  • Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater

  • Accommodation: Africa Safari Karatu (Safari Comfort Bungalow)

  • Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Drinks not included)

Your journey takes you to Lake Eyasi, a unique destination where the Hadzabe, one of Tanzania’s last hunter-gatherer tribes, call home. Immerse yourself in their fascinating traditions, from ancient hunting techniques to storytelling around the fire, gaining a rare glimpse into a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.

After experiencing the Hadzabe culture, enjoy a scenic drive back to Arusha, where you’ll relax at The Charity Hotel before catching your flight to Zanzibar, famous for its turquoise waters, white-sand beaches, and vibrant coastal culture.

Main Destination: Lake Eyasi → Zanzibar

Accommodation: The Charity Hotel (Arusha) / Zanzibar transfer

Meals & Drinks: All meals included (Non-alcoholic drinks)

This day begins with a visit to the historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll sail on a traditional dhow to Prison Island, home to giant tortoises, some over a century old. A refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters is the perfect addition to your morning.

Later, enjoy a Spice Tour, where you’ll discover Zanzibar’s famous spices and tropical fruits—cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, and more. This cultural experience connects you with the island’s rich history as a hub of the spice trade.

  • Main Destination: Zanzibar Stone Town
