Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania – Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by your friendly GreyJoy Safari Adventures driver-guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy optional activities such as visiting a local art gallery or exploring the vibrant Arusha Maasai Central Market, where you can shop for wood carvings, paintings, and even try your hand at making Maasai beaded bracelets. Settle in, relax, and get ready for the unforgettable journey ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Land of Giants
After an early breakfast, your adventure kicks off with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and towering baobab trees. The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline during the dry season, draws in wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and a wide variety of birdlife. After a thrilling day of game viewing, you’ll head to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Wildlife Encounters in Lake Manyara
After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park for a half-day game drive. This compact park is packed with wildlife including elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Over 300 bird species also make it a birdwatcher’s paradise. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before heading to your lodge to unwind.

Day 4: Journey to Lake Natron – Flamingo Paradise
Today you’ll travel north to the remote and mystical Lake Natron, known for its dramatic scenery and flamingo breeding grounds. After lunch, embark on a guided 2-hour hike to the stunning Ngaresero Waterfall, hidden in a lush canyon. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk along the lake’s shoreline, where you may see thousands of flamingos glowing pink against the volcanic backdrop as the sun sets.

Day 5: Into the Wild – Northern Serengeti (Mara Region)
After breakfast, depart Lake Natron and head toward the iconic Northern Serengeti, known for its remote beauty and seasonal Great Migration river crossings. As you drive, watch the landscape change from dry volcanic terrain to rolling plains. Your game drive today focuses on the Wogatende area near the Mara River, where with a bit of luck, you may witness wildebeest bravely crossing crocodile-infested waters.

Day 6: Full Day Safari – Northern Serengeti Magic
Spend the entire day in the Northern Serengeti, with the option to do morning and afternoon game drives or a full-day exploration with a picnic lunch. This region is teeming with wildlife and predators, and the scenic rocky outcrops offer prime viewpoints for spotting lions, cheetahs, and elephants. At sunset, return to your comfortable tented camp for dinner under the stars.

Day 7: From North to Central Serengeti
This morning, you’ll journey from the northern to the central Serengeti, enjoying game viewing along the way. Central Serengeti is the beating heart of the park, known for its abundance of wildlife and dramatic predator-prey interactions. For those wanting to stretch their legs, there’s an optional 2-hour guided nature walk with an armed ranger—perfect for seeing the bush from a different angle.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater – A Natural Wonderi
Early morning departure takes you to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five. You’ll descend 600 meters into the crater for a full-day game drive, with a picnic lunch near Lake Magadi, known for flamingos and hippos. The diverse landscape supports everything from wildebeest and buffalo to elusive black rhinos. In the evening, return to your lodge in Karatu.

Day 9: Cultural Tour in Mto wa Mbu & Departure
Enjoy a slow morning before heading to Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant town where more than 120 different ethnic groups live. During your 2 to 3-hour guided cultural walking tour, you’ll meet local artisans, see banana plantations, and even taste traditional banana beer. A local lunch is included. After the tour, you’ll transfer back to Arusha or to the airport for your onward flight, with your heart full of memories from an unforgettable adventure with GreyJoy Safari Adventures.
