Day 1: Tarangire National Park – The Adventure Begins
Your safari with GreyJoy Safari Adventures kicks off in the morning when your personal safari guide picks you up from your accommodation in Arusha. As you leave the city behind and travel along smooth roads through the picturesque Maasai plains, you’ll catch glimpses of everyday life—colorfully dressed Maasai herding cattle, children waving as they ride bikes, and donkey carts making their way across the land.
Your destination today is Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and striking landscapes. With the roof of your 4×4 safari vehicle popped open, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the rolling savannah, acacia woodlands, and the Tarangire River, which attracts a wide range of wildlife. Keep your camera ready—you might spot zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalo, and elephants, as well as predators like lions and leopards.
After a thrilling game drive, you’ll head to your campsite, nestled among the trees where cheeky monkeys often swing by to say hello.

Day 2: Journey to Serengeti National Park
After a hearty breakfast, your journey continues through the fertile highlands of Karatu, where you’ll see the Iraqw people tending to their farms of coffee, wheat, and corn. As you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater—a vast, ancient caldera formed over three million years ago.
By midday, you’ll arrive in the legendary Serengeti National Park. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning “endless plains,” and it truly lives up to the name. This iconic park is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras journey in search of greener pastures—one of the most awe-inspiring wildlife spectacles on Earth.
After a game drive filled with unforgettable sightings, you’ll head to your campsite in the heart of the wilderness. As night falls, enjoy a warm meal and sleep under the stars.

Day 3: Full Day in the Serengeti
Today is all about exploring the untamed beauty of the Serengeti. You’ll spend the full day on game drives across vast grasslands, home to a wide variety of wildlife—impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, and more. And of course, depending on the season, you may witness the dramatic movements of the Great Migration.
The migration is driven by rainfall patterns: from November to December, the herds travel south to calving grounds, and from April to June, they move north again in search of fresh grazing.
After a day of adventure, you’ll return to your campsite inside the Serengeti for a hearty dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Rise early and enjoy breakfast before heading out on another exciting game drive. With a bit of luck, today could be the day you spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.
As the day unfolds, you’ll leave the endless plains behind and make your way toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the crater rim in the late afternoon, you’ll have your first jaw-dropping view of this natural wonder—an unbroken caldera teeming with life, just waiting to be explored tomorrow.
Your campsite for the night sits at the crater’s edge, offering sweeping views and a peaceful atmosphere as the sun sets over the highlands.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Wildlife Wonderland
An early start rewards you with a stunning sunrise over the crater. After breakfast, you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s “Garden of Eden.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site covers over 260 square kilometers and hosts around 25,000 animals year-round—one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.
On your game drive across the crater floor, you might spot zebras, gazelles, hyenas, elephants, and—if you’re lucky—rare black rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the crater surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll make the drive back to Fig Tree Lodge & Camp, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s incredible sightings.

Lake Manyara is a haven for birdlife—thousands of flamingos, storks, pelicans, and over 500 bird species call it home. On land, watch for tree-climbing lions, baboons, giraffes, and elephants.
After a relaxed game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll begin your return journey to Arusha, where your unforgettable safari with GreyJoy Safari Adventures comes to an end.
