Day 1: Zanzibar to Nyerere – Sunset Safari Drive
Your adventure begins in the afternoon with a pick-up from your Zanzibar hotel and transfer to the airport for a 4:00 PM scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve).
Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, your GreyJoy Safari Adventures professional guide will warmly welcome you and give a short safari briefing. After checking in at the park gate, you’ll set out on an exciting sunset game drive, with chances to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, and many more as the golden sun dips over the savannah.
In the evening, settle into the charming Mufasa Tented Camp, where dinner and a peaceful night in the bush await.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari & Hidden Hot Springs
Start your day with a sunrise game drive, the best time to see predators on the move. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, then head out again for a full-day safari adventure in Nyerere.
With your packed picnic lunch, you’ll explore diverse habitats filled with incredible wildlife and enjoy a stop at a natural hot spring, a hidden gem within the reserve.
In the evening, return to camp to relax, savor a delicious dinner, and unwind in the tranquility of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Rufiji River Safari, Fishing & Maasai Cultural Visit
Today offers a completely different experience as you trade the safari vehicle for a boat safari along the Rufiji River. Glide through its winding channels while spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife such as fish eagles diving for their catch. If you’re feeling adventurous, try catching a tigerfish with the help of our experienced crew.
After a riverside lunch, head outside the park for a fascinating Maasai cultural visit. Here you’ll witness traditional warrior dances, fire-making skills, and admire the Maasai’s intricate beadwork. End the day at Selous Safari Lodge, where you can relax by the pool before dinner.

Day 4: Return to Zanzibar
Wake up to the sounds of the bush and enjoy a relaxed breakfast, perhaps with playful monkeys nearby. After soaking in your last moments of wilderness, board your 7:00 AM flight back to Zanzibar, where your safari ends and the beachside paradise awaits.
