As your African road trip comes to a close, you’ll board a flight back to Arusha. From your window seat, you’ll see the vast Serengeti stretching out beneath you—this time from the sky—and take a moment to reflect on the memories made, stories lived, and the wild beauty you’ve just experienced. Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by your friendly GreyJoy Safari Adventures driver-guide who will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha. Known as the safari capital of Tanzania, Arusha is a lively city nestled beneath the majestic Mount Meru and serves as the perfect gateway to your wildlife adventure.
Your first night will be at Africa Safari Arusha, located in the quiet Sakina area. Perched on Ngateu Hill, the lodge offers a peaceful retreat with sweeping views of Arusha town and the surrounding landscape—ideal for unwinding after your flight and getting ready for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Explore Tarangire National Park – The Land of Elephants
After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, we set out for Tarangire National Park, just a short drive away. Known for its ancient baobab trees and massive herds of elephants, Tarangire offers a completely different landscape compared to other parks.
During the dry season (June to October), the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline for wildlife, drawing elephants, antelope, zebras, lions, giraffes, and countless bird species. Keep your camera ready—this is a photographer’s dream!
Tonight, you’ll stay at Africa Safari Lake Manyara, a comfortable lodge nestled near the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

Day 3: Discover the Wonders of Ngorongoro Crater
Wake up early for an exciting day exploring the legendary Ngorongoro Crater. As you arrive at the crater rim, take a moment to soak in the breathtaking view of this ancient caldera—one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.
The crater is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five. It’s one of the few places where you have a good chance of spotting the endangered black rhino. Expect to also encounter zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hyenas, elephants, and more during your game drive inside the crater.
In the evening, relax and recharge at Africa Safari Karatu, nestled in the lush highlands nearby.

Day 4: Scenic Drive to Lake Natron
Today, embark on a scenic road trip through northern Tanzania toward the remote and mystical Lake Natron. Departing from Karatu after breakfast, the journey takes you through ever-changing landscapes—from verdant hills to dusty plains.
As you pass remote Maasai villages and volcanic formations, you’ll approach Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God,” which is still an active volcano. Eventually, you’ll arrive at Lake Natron, a surreal landscape with mineral-rich waters and crimson hues, where you’ll spend the night at Africa Safari Lake Natron.

Day 5: Flamingos & Journey to the Serengeti
This morning, take a guided walk with a Maasai tribesman along the shores of Lake Natron, in search of the lesser flamingo. Lake Natron is East Africa’s most vital breeding site for these elegant birds—home to up to 2.5 million flamingos during peak breeding months.
After your walk, set off westward toward the Serengeti. Along the way, stop at Africa Safari Maasai Boma, where you’ll experience authentic Maasai culture and traditions. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive through Pololeti Game Reserve, a wildlife-rich area adjacent to Serengeti.

Day 6: Enter the Legendary Serengeti
After breakfast, begin your journey into the heart of Serengeti National Park. As you traverse the vast plains, your driver-guide will track wildlife movements to maximize sightings.
En route, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before reaching Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma, just outside the park boundary. This eco-friendly lodge offers canvas tented rooms, giving you a true “glamping” experience in the African bush.

Day 7: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park
Today, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive across the Serengeti’s endless plains—a name that translates to “the place where the land runs on forever.” Wake up to the sounds of the wild and head out in search of predators, grazers, and the great migration (season dependent).
Your guide will take you through various ecosystems, from riverine forests to open savannahs, where lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and more roam freely. After a full day of adventure, return to Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma for another restful night under the stars.

Day 8: Farewell & Flight from Serengeti to Arusha
After breakfast and one final game drive through Serengeti, your safari vehicle will bring you to Seronera Airstrip. From here, enjoy a scenic flight back to Arusha, taking in the sweeping aerial views of the Serengeti and the Great Rift Valley.
Upon landing at Arusha Airport, your unforgettable journey with GreyJoy Safari Adventures comes to an end—but the incredible memories, wildlife encounters, and cultural experiences will stay with you forever.
