Day 1: Fly to Nyerere National Park & Game Drive
Your adventure with GreyJoy Safari Adventures begins bright and early as our professional driver picks you up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfers you to Zanzibar Airport. From here, you’ll take a short scenic flight to the breathtaking Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, your expert driver-guide will warmly welcome you and share the plan for the day.
Nyerere is one of Africa’s largest protected areas, teeming with wildlife, rivers, lakes, and pristine landscapes. During your game drives, you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and an incredible variety of bird species. Midday, you’ll enjoy your packed lunch in a peaceful setting before continuing deeper into the wild for more thrilling game viewing as the afternoon unfolds.
As the sun sets, painting the African sky, you’ll head to your lodge for a delicious dinner. Rest for the night in the comfort of your accommodation, serenaded by the sounds of the Rufiji River—where hippos often grunt and growl in the background, giving you an authentic safari atmosphere.

Day 2: Morning Boat Safari, Village Tour & Flight Back to Zanzibar
Wake up early to the magic of the wilderness and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before setting off on an exciting boat safari along the Rufiji River. This two-hour cruise is the perfect way to start your day—watch hippos wallowing, crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, and flocks of colorful birds greeting the sunrise.
Afterwards, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before heading out on a fascinating village tour. Guided by our team, you’ll discover the local way of life, visit primary schools, and interact with community members for a meaningful cultural experience.
Later, enjoy lunch back at the lodge before preparing for your return journey. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Mtemere Airstrip for your 4:00 p.m. flight back to Zanzibar. Upon landing, our driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel—bringing your unforgettable two-day safari to a close.
